Domestic Abuse: Counselling Investing in long-term counselling for survivors of domestic abuse

This grant is coming soon

Investing in long-term counselling for survivors of domestic abuse

Many people who have experienced domestic abuse need access to longer-term counselling to recover from trauma, rebuild their confidence and wellbeing, and move forward with their lives. Yet specialist domestic abuse organisations often struggle to secure funding for counselling that is available for as long as people need it.

Through this fund, we want to help sustain access to specialist domestic abuse counselling. We will provide five-year grants to organisations that have a deep understanding of domestic abuse and the needs of victim-survivors, enabling them to continue providing counselling that helps people recover and rebuild their lives.

This fund is part of our Safer Futures Programme that backs organisations who are supporting people to rebuild their lives after abuse, displacement or prison.

What we’re looking to fund

We want to fund specialist domestic abuse organisations with at least three years’ experience delivering counselling to victim-survivors of domestic abuse.

  • Counselling services should be:
    • Person-centred
    • Longer-term (a minimum of 12 sessions)
    • Holistic
    • Trauma-informed

We will be ring-fencing 5 grants for organisations that are providing this support to children and/or young people.
