Grants technical FAQs

Can I log on to the online application and reporting portal using Single Sign On, a Google account, or an Apple account?

Yes, you can. You can create and access your account using Single Sign-On, your Google or Apple account, or just an email address, whatever works best for you.

Can I use both email and Single Sign On to access my account?

No. Your account is linked to the sign-in method you chose when you set it up. If you can’t see your application, check that you’re using the same sign-in method and email address.

When I’m creating an organisation, I’m asked for a Government ID but my organisation is exempt. What should I do?

If your organisation is exempt, you can leave this bank.

I have an online account from a previous grant. Will my login details still work?

If you applied for funding or submitted a report after January 2025, you can use your existing login details. The same applies if you already have an account for “Blackbaud YourCause: Grant Connect” with another funder. If you used our portal before January 2025, you’ll need to create a new account in the new online portal.

What email should I use when creating an account?

We recommend using a shared organisation email rather than a personal one.

Why do I need to set up an account?

Having an account helps keep your information secure and allows us to send you your report if you are successful or ask for additional details about your application or grant.

Can I work with a colleague on an application or report?

You can work together directly in the portal by inviting a colleague to collaborate. Just select “Manage Applicants” at the top right of the form. They will be able to see your joint form under their own login. You can also download a Word version of the questions to work on offline before completing the form online.

I’ve forgotten my password. How can I reset it?

How you reset your password depends on how you log in. For example, if you use a Google account, follow Google’s password recovery steps. For more help, check out the troubleshooting page or contact us.

Can I send a paper copy of the application?

No. Applications should be submitted through the online portal unless the programme guidelines say otherwise or you’ve agreed an alternative with our team.

If you prefer, you can download a sample form from the website to prepare your answers offline before submitting online.

Do I have to complete the application in one go?

No. Your progress is saved automatically, so you can come back to it at any time.

The form shows American dates or spelling; can I change this?

Some browsers default to US settings. You can change this by updating your browser language settings to UK English.

How will I know my application has been submitted?

Once you submit your application, it will show as submitted in the portal, you’ll also receive an automatic confirmation email with a reference number.

We will send you a second email within seven working days, please get in touch if you don’t get the second email.

Can I edit my application after submitting it?

No, you can’t make changes once it’s been submitted. If you need to withdraw, resubmit, or add information, you need to contact us.

Do you have detailed guidance for using the portal?

Yes. If you need more help, you can find a full guide here.

I have a grant but can’t find my report form. Where is it?

Your report form will be added to your account one month before it’s due. We’ll email you when it’s available.

Can I change the owner of an online form in my account?

Yes. The account owner can transfer ownership of a grant or a specific form (such as a report) by selecting “Manage Applicants” at the top right of the form.
If you can’t access the account, please contact us.

My colleague has left and they had the login. How can I access the application or report?

Contact us and we can transfer access to the grant to an email address you have access to.
