New Research Project to Analyse DEI Data Standard Impact on UK Funding

The project

We are working in partnership with the National VCSE Data and Insights Observatory and The Social Investment Consultancy (TSIC) along with City Bridge Foundation, Esmée Fairbairn Foundation and Paul Hamlyn Foundation, to research:

  • The equity of the UK funding landscape
  • Whether current funding practices impact equitable funding
  • Funders’ and funded organisations’ perceptions of funding equity in the UK
  • The impact of the DEI Data Standard on funder practices

The DEI Data Standard

The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Data Standard was created by an independent working group of UK funders that believe an effective framework to capture DEI data can spark action to identify and target funding to address structural inequalities. This shared framework aims to categorise organisations led by or targeting and supporting groups experiencing structural inequity.

Have your say

The research team at NTU are really interested in hearing from funders and funded organisations about their experiences of implementing the DEI Data Standard, as well as gathering insights on their views on funding equity in the UK.

If you would like to contribute to this research as a funder or funded organisation, you can sign up to the National VCSE Data and Insights Observatory at Nottingham Trent University (NTU)’s mailing list, as well as submit your own data, via the button below.

Please note, the form is hosted by NTU, and as such, any data submitted via this form will be held in accordance with their privacy policy.

The National Voluntary Community and Social Enterprise Data and Insights Observatory is based at Nottingham Business School (NBS), part of Nottingham Trent University.

VSCE Observatory logoIt was founded in 2022 to “develop platforms and tools to provide relevant, timely, and trustworthy information, interactive dashboards and other sources of information than can inform and improve decision-making by policy-makers and practitioners, and thus improve people’s lives”.
